“Mercy and truth shall meet.
Justice and peace shall kiss.”  (Ps 85:11)

         Every year a verse from the Word of God guides the reflections of the Festival.  This year the verse will be ““Mercy and truth shall meet.  Justice and peace shall kiss.”  (Ps 85:11)  In choosing this theme, Mother Elvira told us, “Never before has the world hungered and thirsted for mercy, truth, justice, and peace as it does today.  The theme of the encounter between mercy and truth, and between justice and peace, feels like our own story, because the youth and families on the journey of faith of Comunita Cenacolo have lived a life of lies, of “masks,” and of fear, and they hunger and thirst for truth and peace.   Through the Community, we experience today a living encounter with Jesus who is the Truth who awakens and frees our conscience, leading our lives into the embrace of the Mercy of the Father.
 
            Many people from so different countries will come up the hill of Saluzzo, where the Mother House of the Community was born, to participate in the Festival of Life, because they have an immense need for the peace born from the justice of God, which is the Cross of His Son Jesus, that Cross with which the Father God “embraces” and “kisses” our poor, broken humanity, healing and saving it.
 
             Let us join together from this very moment, so that the arms of the Cross of Christ will gather many families and youth, who need Mercy, Truth, Justice, and Peace, and will bring them to the hill of Saluzzo.
